Error “User name already in use”. What now?

When creating new users in your model, it can be that you get the following error notification:

  • This username is already in use. (English version)
  • Dette brugernavn er allerede i brug. (Danish version)
  • Dieser Benutzername wird bereits verwendet. (German version)
  • Cet identifiant est déjà utilisé. (French version)
  • Dette brukernavnet er allerede i bruk. (Norwegian version)
  • Deze gebruikersnaam is al in gebruik. (Dutch version)

This means that someone else is already using this name, either in your own environment or in another environment.

The easiest way to fix this is to make a small change to the suggested user name, e.g. adding the environment’s name to the username.
